The MLB trade deadline on August 1st is rapidly approaching and the Cleveland Indians trade rumors are starting to heat up on the hot stove. Cleveland is 57-42 and in first place in the AL Central. The Indians have overachieved this year and have a few different needs they'd like to fill. With that in mind, here all the latest Indians trade rumors.
Indians And Brewers Talking Trade?
The Indians have a need at catcher and in the bullpen, which makes the Brewers a logical trade partner.

Smith will be cheaper than Brewers' closer Jeremy Jeffress and the Indians are hesitant to move any of their top prospects. Money is also tight in Cleveland, which takes them out of the running of some of the bigger names.
Indians Looking At Nunez?
According to Buster Olney, the Cleveland Indians could look for smaller deals than making a blockbuster. One player linked is the Twins' Eduardo Nunez.
Cleveland will make upgrades, but chances are its choices will be valued more for infrastructure than headlines. Eduardo Nunez of the Twins could be a natural target because of his speed, athleticism and versatility -- he can play the left side of the infield or the outfield -- and he is having the best season of his career, with 15 doubles, 12 homers and 26 stolen bases.
Nunez could start at third baseman over Juan Uribe. The 37-year-old is hitting just .209 this season.
Cleveland After Steve Pearce?
The Indians are also looking at some outfielders. They'd been linked to Jay Bruce, but he might be out of their price range. That leaves them targeting a different player.

Pierce has a history of injuries and is 33-years-old. But his impressive .313/.386/.530 slash line and expiring contract make him a prime trade candidate. He's also played third in the past, which could help his stock in the eyes of the Indians.
