The Cleveland Indians have their starting catcher back after activating Yan Gomes from the 15-day disabled list on Sunday. He had been rehabbing a sprained right knee.
Gomes started behind the plate, batting seventh on Sunday against Cincinnati.
Gomes was injured back on April 11th while attempting to catch a throw and apply a tag on a sliding by Rajai Davis. Gomes had his right foot planted on the plate and Davis slid directly into his leg.

At the time of the injury, Gomes was projected to miss about six weeks. However, he completed a minor league rehab on assignment Friday and returns just under that projection.
Gomes was batting .150 in five games heading into Sunday's affair. He hit .278 with 21 home runs and 74 RBIs last season.
