CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Kyle Korver blocked Boston's Jaylen Brown on Monday night and JR Smith jumped from the Cavs bench and walked three or four steps onto the court, punching the air, as the Cavs streaked to the other end.
You had to think, wow, that guy really likes that other guy.
A shooter plays defense, and the other shooter recognizes it.
"I think," Korver said, pausing and laughing at Smith's reaction, "he's my guy, you know. Shooters don't always get blocks, so I think he was just excited to cheer me on. Sometimes when it's not expected, it's like getting a dunk, you've got to save it for a good moment.
