CLEVELAND, Ohio -- A little more than one month ago, Larry Sanders felt like he was in a good place, ready to make his NBA comeback. The timing was right for him. It seemed right for the Cleveland Cavaliers as well, in desperate need of a rim protector following Andrew Bogut's fluke season-ending injury.
So the Cavs gave him a shot, understanding the odds would be long. It turns out the road back was even rockier than anyone could've envisioned, which forced the Cavs to end the experiment early Wednesday morning.
"Larry did everything we asked him to do," general manager David Griffin said Wednesday evening.
