The Cleveland Cavaliers signed combo guard Sindarius Thornwell to a one-year deal on Saturday but with a roster loaded with perimeter players, it’s fair to wonder if the former South Carolina standout will be able to crack Cleveland’s rotation or if he’s more likely to spend the season on the pine.
Currently, seven perimeter players are projected to play regular minutes for the Cavs:
Collin Sexton, Matthew Dellavedova, Darius Garland, Jordan Clarkson, Cedi Osman, Dylan Windler and Kevin Porter Jr.
A 6-foot-5 combo guard with a high basketball IQ, Thornwell isn’t the craftiest player with the ball in his hands, constantly seeking to attack the rim with a rather basic level of ball-handling.
