Norris Cole, who is represented by Rich Paul, signed a qualifying offer with the Pelicans in a possible precursor for Tristan Thompson resolution.
It has been a long offseason for Cavaliers fans hoping that Tristan Thompson’s contract dispute will be solved and he will return to the team. That’s going to happen — as Thompson isn’t going to sit out the year — but the question is how will Tristan return to the team and for what amount of time?
There are two possible outcomes to this situation, as Tristan can either accept a qualifying offer and play into free agency next summer or the Cavaliers can come to terms with him on a long-term extension.
