The Cavaliers should extend Cedi Osman before the 2019-20 season

The Cleveland Cavaliers acquired the rights to Cedi Osman on night of the 2015 NBA Draft, but Osman didn’t come to the NBA until the 2017-18 season, in which he showed positive flashes as a rookie.

He played in 61 games and even started 12 of those as a rookie (per Basketball Reference).

While his raw statistics weren’t earth-shattering as a rookie (3.9 points and 2.0 rebounds per game, per basketball-reference), he only played 11.0 minutes per game, and Osman showed other aspects of his game that made him appealing to not only the front office, but to teammates, and Cavaliers’ fans.
