It has been over a month since J.R. Smith officially opted out of his contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers in search of a better deal. That deal hasn’t come and Smith has been left standing alone as the free agent dust settles ahead of training camps opening up soon.
Smith was foolish to opt out of his $6.4 million deal with the Cavaliers — who not only were willing to overpay to get him back but are perhaps the best fit for him.
