NEW ORLEANS: When Warriors coach Steve Kerr went on a three-minute pregame rant on Nov. 9 about the results of the presidential election, he knew there would be critics.
He knew there would be those who would say, “Stick to sports,” those who see athletics as a diversion and want players and coaches to be seen and not heard when it comes to social and political activism.
But the former Cavaliers guard who will coach the Western Conference Sunday night in the 66th NBA All-Star Game at Smoothie King Center, Kerr cannot stay true to his family history by being quiet.
