OAKLAND, Calif. -- Yes, Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert fired Mike Brown, twice.
Indeed, Brown is the acting head coach of the Golden State Warriors, who host the Cavs in Game 1 of the NBA Finals on Thursday (9 p.m., ABC).
It's true, Gilbert is still paying Brown. There were four years and $20 million left on the contract Brown signed for his second stint with the Cavs, which ended after one season in 2014.
But, try as you might to make it so, Brown insists this series for him is not about revenge.
"I mean, my son goes to school back there, I still have a house back there, I have fond memories back there," Brown said Wednesday, on Finals "media day" at Oracle Arena.
