LeBron James' triple-double not enough for Cleveland Cavaliers as they suffer 106-101 loss to Detroit Pistons

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. -- Thursday night was LeBron James' final regular season game at The Palace of Auburn Hills, a building where he first started transforming into the league's most unstoppable force with a playoff performance for the ages.

It wasn't the farewell James, who counts wins more than anything other stat, envisioned.

The Cavaliers lost their third straight game, matching the longest losing skid of the season, as they fell to the Pistons, 106-101.

James did his best to end Cleveland's tough stretch in March.

Dazzling the crowd with thunderous dunks -- he had seven on the night -- that looked similar to 10 years ago, James recorded his eighth triple-double this season, tallying 29 points to go with 10 assists and 13 rebounds.
