CLEVELAND, Ohio – Leading up to the Oct. 31 rookie scale extension deadline at the beginning of the season, Cavaliers All-Star forward LeBron James was mute.
His teammate, Tristan Thompson, was eligible for an extension that never transpired and the two share the same agent – Rich Paul of Klutch Sports Group based in Cleveland.
Any comment from James on the matter would have looked like a negotiating tactic, and he understood that.
So he stayed quiet. Plus, he wasn't quite sure what he had in Thompson. His borderline double-double numbers over the last two seasons were impressive, but the Cavaliers only combined for 57 wins in those years.
