LeBron James named All-Star team captain

CLEVELAND– LeBron James was the top vote getter in All-Star Game voting and will be a captain.

He received 2,638,294 fan votes, meaning he will pick his team from the pool of All-Star players. While he was first in both fan voting and media voting, players ranked James second behind Milwaukee forward Giannis Antetokounmpo.

The other captain will be Golden State’s Steph Curry, who received 2,379,494 votes. Since James got the most votes in the league, he will pick first. As they pick teams, the first eight picks will be the other eight starters. They do not have to be from the captain’s conference, meaning the squads will be mixed of East and West players.
