CLEVELAND -- LeBron James isn't the first rich guy determined to help poor kids do better in school.
But what he's doing with the I Promise School in Akron is both important and admirable.
And if it helps save young lives, James' fame might make this a game-changer for public education in poor urban and rural areas.
Because the LeBron James Family Foundation is helping pay for the school, it's certain to be subjected to prolonged and intense scrutiny.
Every success, and every setback, will be noted. Not just in Northeast Ohio, but across the country.
