SAN ANTONIO– LeBron James joined the 30,000 point club during the Cavaliers’ game against San Antonio on Tuesday night.
James needed seven points coming into the contest, and the go-ahead basket came on a 20-foot jumper inside of the left wing with 1.1 seconds remaining in the first quarter.
It goes without saying that he joins an elite club in the accomplishment. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (38,387 points); Karl Malone (36,928); Kobe Bryant (33,643); Michael Jordan (32,292); Wilt Chamberlain (31,419); and Dirk Nowitzki, (30,837 and counting) have all paved the way before him.
James’ special distinction is the fact that he is the youngest player to ever accomplish the feat at 33-years, 24-days old.
