The 10-story banner featuring LeBron James in downtown Cleveland is staying put. Sherwin-Williams’ decision to temporarily remove the banner for the summer and replace it with another one celebrating the company’s 150 years in business was met with outrage from Cavs fans who wanted the banner to stay.

One online petition urging the company to keep the banner up accumulated nearly 24,000 supporters. Instead, Sherwin-Williams will donate $150,000 to the LeBron James Family Foundation. The paint company employs 3,000 people in Northeast Ohio.

“For 150 years, Sherwin-Williams has been proud to call Cleveland our home, and we’re committed to doing the right thing for the people of this great city," said Sherwin-Williams President and CEO John Morikis.
