CANTON, Ohio -- Larry Sanders hopped off the Canton Charge bench with about two minutes left in the first quarter, received some last-minute instructions from assistant coach Melvin Ely and knelt at the scorer's table with his goggles hanging around his neck.
His Charge debut was imminent.
But Sanders, who was out of the NBA for more than two years before making his official return in the Cleveland Cavaliers' blowout win against the Detroit Pistons Tuesday night, had to wait again.
Starting center Eric Moreland was at the free-throw line and the stoppage Sanders wanted, the stoppage fans wanted, didn't come until there were about 14 seconds remaining in the quarter.
