When I think of Kyrie Irving’s standing as one of the top point guards to ever lace up for the Cleveland Cavaliers, two other outstanding guards come to mind.
Mr. Cavalier
The first, Austin Carr, Mr. Cavalier. Carr earned the moniker Mr. Cavalier by being the first, first overall draft pick by the Cavaliers. However, recent history has shown us, simply being selected means nothing. Austin Carr did average 34.6 points per game (38 in his third and last year) as a player at The University of Notre Dame while earning two consensus All-American honors (’69-’70,’ 70-’71) in his sophomore and junior season and AP Player of the Year and the Naismith Award in his final season.
