Jason Lloyd: LeBron James' new obsession is becoming an elite free-throw shooter

CLEVELAND: There was a time when LeBron James was winning championships in Miami he was also focused on his efficiency. Focused may not quite do it justice. He was borderline obsessed with it.

James’ efficiency increased in each of his four years with the Heat. He would have friendly wagers with Dwyane Wade over who could shoot a higher percentage. By his final season in Miami, James shot a career-best .567. Remove his 3-point attempts and he shot better than 62 percent.

Times are different these days. His role with the Cavaliers prevents another 62-percent shooting season.
