The 10-story LeBron James banner will remain in place in downtown Cleveland.
That announcement came early Tuesday from Sherwin-Williams.
The company changed course in recognition of fan interest and the Cavaliers’ NBA championship.
Previously, Sherwin-Williams had said the giant banner on corporate headquarters near Quicken Loans Arena would come down for the summer, to be replaced by a new banner celebrating the company’s 150 years. That meant the oversized banner of James would disappear during the Republican National Convention and be reinstalled next fall.
“As a longtime supporter of the Cavs and the entire community, we want the energy and excitement in this city to continue,” Sherwin-Williams President and CEO John Morikis said in a statement.
