CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Perhaps Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert didn't appreciate David Griffin, but one of Griffin's peers apparently did, as the former Cavaliers General Manager received one first-place vote en route to an eighth-place finish in Executive of the Year voting.
Unlike the many other honors handed out Monday, during the inaugural NBA Awards at Basketball City in New York, Executive of the Year is voted on by the league's GM's.
Griffin, who also tallied a second-place vote, finished with eight total points. To put his standing in perspective, Golden State's Bob Myers won the award with nine first-place votes and 59 total points, narrowly edging Houston Rockets GM Daryl Morey (57 points).
