CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Houston Rockets swingman Eric Gordon was named NBA Sixth Man of the Year Monday night.
Gordon, who made a career-best 246 3-pointers for the Rockets this season, becomes the first player in franchise history to earn the honor.
Gordon beat out Lou Williams, an explosive bench scorer who started the year with the Los Angeles Lakers before getting traded to the Rockets at the deadline, and Golden State's bench stabilizer Andre Iguodala.
In his first season with the Rockets, Gordon averaged 16.2 points on 40.6 percent from the field and 37.2 percent from beyond the arc.
