CLEVELAND, Ohio -- David Griffin is out as general manager of the Cleveland Cavaliers. Never mind that, in three full seasons as GM, Griffin oversaw a team that appeared in three NBA Finals and won one.
Owner Dan Gilbert made it official with a note on company letterhead Monday, and Griffin weighed in separately later Monday.
I would like to know how Griffin's exit makes the Cavs a better team/organization/franchise today.
(Still waiting.)
I guarantee that LeBron James is less than thrilled about what went down, that an owner he prefers not to acknowledge publicly just allowed a GM whom he respects to walk -- in the middle of reported Paul George trade talks that have a tight deadline, no less.
