CLEVELAND -- Cavaliers assistant Damon Jones will coach the team in the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas next month.
Jones, 40, was in his first season as a full-time assistant with the Cavs in 2016-17. A former Cleveland player who rejoined the organization in 2014-15 as James' personal shooting aide, Jones was one of two additions to the coaching staff made by head coach Tyronn Lue.
The Summer League, used primarily for rookies, young reserve NBA players, and D-Leaguers hoping to make a team, runs from July 7-17.
The Cavs' summer roster has not yet been announced (what with the front-office shakeup and all), though with an aging roster the only two likely players from Cleveland's NBA team to play in Vegas are Kay Felder and Edy Tavares.
