There were few unoccupied seats for the unveiling of the LeBron James 13 signature shoe by Nike at the E.J. Thomas Performing Arts Hall on Sunday evening.
More than 2,000 people in the 2,300 seating capacity were students from his alma mater, St. Vincent-St. Mary High School, and Akron school students who participate in LeBron James Family Foundation programs.
A few Cavs season ticket holders also were among the invited guests.
Thomas Barter, 11, a fifth-grader at Glover, called the event “awesome.”
“I’ve been excited all week,” he said.
His mother, Barbara Fortson, said she had no idea the event was going to be so elaborate.
