CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The Cavaliers' Collin Sexton tied No. 1 overall pick Deandre Ayton as the predicted NBA Rookie of the Year in a vote by their peers.
Sexton, whom the Cavs drafted eighth overall in June, and Ayton of the Phoenix Suns each received 18 percent of the 36 votes cast by rookies at an NBA rookie event and collected by NBA.com. Fifteen players received at least one vote.
Ohio State's Keita Bates-Diop was voted the steal of the draft -- the Timberwolves selected him in the second round (48th overall). Trae Young was voted the best rookie shooter and Chicago's Wendell Carter Jr.
