CLEVELAND, Ohio - On Monday, the Supreme Court of the United States ruled states can allow legalized sports gambling. The ruling eliminates restrictions in a 1992 federal law that barred state-authorized sports gambling, with some exceptions.
With the new ruling, Ohio now has a chance to jump on the legalized sports gambling bandwagon.
However, the governor office has not yet made that decision. In a prepared statement, communications director Jim Lynch said, "Expanding gambling has not been a priority for this administration, and that remains unchanged," and they are looking to see what impact a change would have.
