Cleveland Cavaliers: With Billups out, who is the top candidate?

After Griffin was let go, Gilbert called Billups and spent a couple of days in Cleveland, per Wojnarowski. Billups was the sole candidate for this Cleveland Cavaliers’ front office position.

According to Wojnarowski, Dan Gilbert and Billups could not come to the parameters of a deal.

The name to keep an eye on is Koby Altman. He worked under David Griffin and has been with the Cavs organization since 2012.

According to Wojnarowski, Altman was the one who put the trade package together that would have brought in Paul George from Indiana.

Altman is also highly respected across the NBA, according to Wojnarowski.
