The Cleveland Cavaliers will part ways with forward Dahntay Jones after spending one season with the team, according to ESPN‘s Marc Stein.
Jones’ contract was non-guaranteed, but it would have become guaranteed at $1.6 million for the 2016-17 season and would have locked in his position on the depth chart.
That would mean that players from the Cavs’ Summer League team, such as wings DeAndre Liggins and Kenny Gabriel, would likely be out of competition for a roster spot since they are not on guaranteed contracts.
It could also have an impact on Cavs’ second round pick, though viewed as a first round pick, Kay Felder and the scorer Jordan McRae.
