CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Now that the season is over, the plan for the Cavs should be very simple - sign general manager David Griffin to a contract extension.
I still can't figure out why ownership has allowed questions to hang over the future of the team's GM.
Griffin's contract is up at the end of June.
He should have been signed to an extension last summer. A perfect time would have been when Coach Tyronn Lue received his new deal in July.
Lue didn't sign his extension until July 26, 2016. That was five weeks after the Cavs won their first title.
