CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The Cleveland Cavaliers capped off their uneventful preseason on Monday with their first win, beating the Dallas Mavericks, 103-97.
The final stats don't matter much. Nor do wins and losses. Not this time of year.
Following the game against the Mavericks, the last one before the opener against the Chicago Bulls on Oct. 27, an exasperated David Blatt, who complained about the length of the preseason, told the assembled media that he was happy with what his team accomplished during the preseason. The team was sluggish and turnover-prone at times. But his joy stems from one thing: No one got hurt.
