CLEVELAND, Ohio -- A Cuyahoga County grand jury overseen by County Prosecutor Timothy J. McGinty has decided not to indict two Cleveland police officers involved in the shooting death of 12-year-old Tamir Rice.
The decision, which came down earlier on Monday, became national news, with many sharing their views on social media. Even Cleveland Cavaliers swingman Iman Shumpert took to Twitter with his short, but pointed message.
Rice was fatally shot November 22, 2014, at the Cudell Rec Center on West Boulevard while carrying a pellet gun.
Prior to Game 3 of the NBA Finals, Quicken Loans Arena, the home for the Cavaliers, became one of the places where there was a march, protesting the Rice shooting and other cases of police violence in Cleveland.
