CLEVELAND, Ohio -- If the Cleveland Cavaliers manage to repeat as NBA champions, general manager David Griffin would certainly deserve kudos for his behind-the-scenes contributions to the team's on-court success.
Even before LeBron James's late January rant about needing a playmaker, Griffin had procured sharp-shooting Kyle Korver from the Atlanta Hawks.
Then Griffin was able to pick up athletic wing Derrick Williams from the Miami Heat.
Griffin then filled the backup point guard position that LeBron was so worried about with Deron Williams of the Dallas Mavericks.
And last, but not least, Griffin delivered a rim protector in the form of Andrew Bogut that the Cavs had been missing since Timofey Mozgov had left the Cavs for the Los Angeles Lakers.
