They lost the greatest player in team history, arguably the greatest player of all time, in LeBron James. To a much lesser extent, the Cleveland Cavaliers lost Jeff Green who played 23 minutes per game and Jose Calderon a veteran backup point guard.
The Cavaliers drafted Collin Sexton a 19-year-old point guard from Alabama with the eighth overall pick in the June draft and surprisingly signed former five-star big man Billy Preston to a two-way deal.
Sexton finished his first Summer League season by making the All-Summer League first team. He averaged 19.6 points per game to go along with nearly four rebounds and three assists.
