CLEVELAND, Ohio -- LeBron James said farewell to Cleveland for the second time on Sunday night, leaving behind a pile of incredible memories, innumerable banners and a now-empty throne that he held for 11 total years.
His departure also leaves the Cavaliers with a complex question to answer: Where do they go next?
This isn't 2010. Back then, the Cavaliers were completely blindsided by James' decision. There was no Plan B. The organization was reduced to rubble, the only option to rebuild from scratch by shifting from championship mode to asset-accumulation mode. Unloading players for draft picks was their best -- and only -- path back to relevance.
