After reports surfaced of the details of a bronze Shaquille O’Neal statue in Los Angeles, I began to wonder what a LeBron James statue would look like in Cleveland.
The most decorated athlete in Cleveland’s history, James has taken the league by storm with both his on-court play and his voice off-the-court. After leaving for the Miami Heat in 2010, and turning into the NBA’s biggest villain as he teamed up with Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh in South Beach, a statue crowning James’ accomplishments in Cleveland could have been the last thing people expected.
However, he came back in 2014 and led the team to two straight NBA Finals, almost single-handedly triumphing over the Golden State Warriors in 2015 before defeating them in an NBA Finals rematch last year (“yup“).
