It’s fairly obvious that the Cleveland Cavaliers‘ goal for the upcoming season is seemingly to get young players a bunch of meaningful minutes for their development, and to shed salary as they will surely be one of the worst teams in the NBA in 2019-20.
The Cavaliers employ a bevy of high-priced role players, including Tristan Thompson, who is set to make over $18.5 million next season (per Spotrac).
Thompson is an excellent rebounder and good lob finisher, so he can have a role with a contending team as we saw on the 2016 Cavaliers team that won the NBA title.
