The Cleveland Cavaliers found a way to open up a roster spot, as the team sent Chris Andersen and cash considerations to the Charlotte Hornets in exchange for a protected second round draft pick.

The move opens up a space, presumably for a backup point guard. but also possibly to acquire a backup center.
The NBA Trade Deadline is Feb. 23 and the Cavs could try to acquire a player via trade or wait to see which players are bought out and become free-agents.
