The typical scent of popcorn and hot dogs at Quicken Loans Arena were replaced by that of turkey and stuffing on Monday. Instead of pretzels and nachos, that night families enjoyed mashed potatoes and a variety of other fixings. On Monday, November 21, the Cavaliers hosted a traditional Thanksgiving dinner for local families that are part of Cleveland Metropolitan School District’s “Project ACT,” which supports students and their families who are homeless or enduring other economic hardships.
The tables in Bridges Restaurant at The Q were set for 250 people from Project ACT, who were in for quite a treat when they realized the “staff” bringing their meals were actually Cavs players and coaches.
