On Monday the Cavaliers said “good-bye” to now former forward Tristan Thompson, one of the final pieces of their championship team from the 2016 season.
Thompson last week agreed to a two-year deal worth a reported $19 million with the Boston Celtics, ending a nine-year run with the Cavaliers.
In his tenure with the Cavs, Thompson averaged 9.4 points and 8.7 rebounds per game. Last season the 29-year-old put up a career-high 12.0 points per game, adding 10.1 rebounds prior to the Cavs season ending in mid-March.
Here’s the tweet the Cavs sent out this afternoon regarding Thompson.
