At this point, it was unclear as to if the Cleveland Cavaliers and other teams might be playing again this season. Now, according to a recent report from ESPN’s Brian Windhorst on Friday (and h/t Bleacher Report’s Paul Kasabian), the NBA is “angling” to cancel the 2019-20 season after the Chinese Basketball Association shut down due to complications regarding the novel coronavirus pandemic.
Windhorst essentially said in his report (and h/t Kasabian) about how the NBA is “not having talks about how to restart the league, they’re having financial talks about what would happen if the season shuts down, and I think there is a significant amount of pessimism right now.
