The Cleveland Cavaliers reportedly released center Larry Sanders on Tuesday, according to The Vertical's Shams Charania and Cleveland.com's Joe Vardon.
Charania reported the Cavaliers plan to sign free-agent center Edy Tavares to a multi-year deal Wednesday to fill Sanders' spot on the roster.
Sanders, who was signed on March 13, appeared in five games for a total of 13 minutes. During that stretch, he scored four points and grabbed four rebounds. He was also shuttled back and forth between the Cavs and their D-League affiliate, the Canton Charge, as the Wine and Gold attempted to get him in shape for a postseason role.
