Cavaliers notebook: Tristan Thompson becomes active leader for consecutive games played

SAN ANTONIO: Tristan Thompson has played through bumps, bruises and even food poisoning to keep his streak alive. Now he’s the league’s reigning iron man.

The Cavaliers big man played in his 325th consecutive game Thursday, taking over the longest active games played streak from the Clippers’ DeAndre Jordan, who missed Wednesday’s game with pneumonia. Jordan’s streak ended at 360 games.

“Some guys are going to be all-time leading scorers, 20-time All-Stars,” Thompson said. “This will be my lane right here: rebounding and consecutive games played.”

Thompson fell ill with food poisoning in Los Angeles during a road trip two years ago, but played through it because of the streak.
