CLEVELAND: Sasha Kaun didn’t think his journey to the NBA would take seven years. If he’d had his way, he would’ve joined the Cavaliers three years ago when he was a free agent, but the two sides couldn’t come to terms on a deal, so he returned to CSKA Moscow.
Even still, when Kaun declared last season would be his final one in the Euroleague, there were those within the Cavs organization who didn’t know if he was serious or leveraging for a bigger contract. As it turns out, he meant it.
Kaun, 30, made his Cavs debut Monday in the team’s annual Wine & Gold scrimmage at Quicken Loans Arena.
