CHICAGO: First it was the Royal Family, now it’s U.S. royalty. When LeBron James is in town, the world’s most powerful dignitaries want to see him.
President Barack Obama attended Tuesday’s season opener between the Cavaliers and his beloved Chicago Bulls. Secret Service had United Center blanketed nearly 12 hours prior to tip-off, but for James and others, playing in front of political leaders is nothing new. It never gets old, either.
“I’m just honored,” James said. “Something I can tell my kids a long, long time from now. I’ll actually be able to have the film showing them … kids don’t believe me sometimes.
