MEMPHIS, TENN.: Mo Williams was going home this season one way or the other. Either it would be his natural home or his former NBA home, the place he felt incredibly comfortable and enjoyed the best years of his career.
When he got tired of waiting on the Memphis Grizzlies, Williams instead chose to return to the Cavaliers. But it was close. The Jackson, Miss., native grew up about 200 miles from Memphis, leaving the Grizzlies the closest he has to a hometown NBA franchise.
“The Grizzlies could’ve got the deal done,” Williams said Wednesday prior to the game between the Cavs and Grizzlies.
