CLEVELAND: Cavaliers coach Tyronn Lue stayed home from Monday night’s game against the Miami Heat at Quicken Loans Arena in hopes of shaking an illness that has been lingering for more than a week.
Associate head coach Larry Drew took over in Lue’s absence. Drew was coach of the Milwaukee Bucks in 2013-14 and directed the Atlanta Hawks from 2010-13.
Stricken at about the same time LeBron James contracted strep throat, Lue missed his second consecutive shootaround Monday morning. The Cavs did not have a morning session on the second day of back-to-back games Saturday in Miami.
