OAKLAND, Calif.: While praising Mike Brown for his humility and confidence while directing the team in his absence, Warriors coach Steve Kerr returned to the bench for Sunday night’s Game 2 of the NBA Finals against the Cavaliers at Oracle Arena.
Kerr said he intends to coach for the rest of the series, which shifts to Cleveland for Games 3 and 4 Wednesday and Friday.
Kerr, who played for the Cavs from 1989-93, took a leave of absence after the Warriors’ second game of the playoffs to deal with complications from back surgery. Brown, who coached the Cavs in two stints, led the Warriors to an 11-0 record after Kerr stepped aside.
