CLEVELAND: The Cavs have spent the past few weeks searching for an effective small-ball lineup they can use to counter opponents. Whether or not they found one for the long term remains to be seen, but it seems clear at this point Jared Cunningham is playing his way back into the rotation — at least for now.
Teams have gone small on the Cavs with success this season. The Washington Wizards blitzed them off their own floor last week playing four guards and other opponents have followed suit. The Portland Trail Blazers were no exception Tuesday night, but Cunningham’s defensive play in the second half helped flip a game the Cavs once trailed by 18.
