Rose is dealing with a sprained left ankle he suffered on Nov. 7 and is set to be re-evaluated in the next two weeks. The team has said that his absence is "excused" and that he has been away from the team since Monday.
Last year while with the New York Knicks, Rose went missing on game day for what he called "a family issue" and was fined by the team.

Rose signed a one-year minimum deal with the Cavs this offseason with the hope of resurrecting his career and signing another long-term deal with someone this offseason.
He has only played in seven games this season due to injury, averaging 14.3 points and 2.6 assists per game after averaging 18.0 points and 4.4 assists in 64 games for the Knicks last season.
